CURRENT HERD SIRE(S)

Buster is one of two home bred herd sires we've kept to breed our cows. We are super picky with our herd sires. We only keep the best of the best from the best and even then most get steered. Only truly exceptional bulls get to reproduce on the Ridge. Buster is chocolate dun, doesn' horned, A2A2, PHA free, non-Chondro.

Liam joined our farm in November 6th, 2025. He comes from an outstanding Dexter farm in Ohio where their breeding goals closely align with ours: TRUE Dual Purpose Dexters! Billy came to us as a trained milk cow with a very friendly heifer calf at her side. She has a beautiful udder and at 9 years old now it is holding up very well. Billy is red, horned, A1A2, PHA free, and non-Chondro. 

Dolly is a beautiful, deep bodied cow with an outstanding udder. We are proud to retain her for our future breeding plan. She is black, horned A1A2, PHA free and non-Chondro.  

Gemma is our first SMD heifer calf born in 2021. She is red, horned, A1A1, PHA free, non-Chondro. Gemma is very sweet and loves to be scratched by her "hoomans". 

Rose is third generation foundation stock. She is red, horned, A2A2, PHA free, non-Chondro and will be retained as a future milk cow on the Ridge. 

Penny is my all time favorite heifer. She truly is a pocket cow and she comes from my favorite milk cow, Billy. Penny is red, horned, A2A2, PHA free, non-Chondro. Pictured at 10 months old.

Hope is out of our best milk cow, Billy and SMD Ballan Navis. She is also the sister to Noel, Winnie and Penny. She is very friendly like her sisters and will one day become our milk cow. Hope is red, horned, A1A2. *Pictured at 3 months

MooShine Ridge is proud to announce the long awaited addition to our herd, Jesse's Honey. She is black, horned, A2A2, Non PHA & Non Chondro.

TailJack is our first home bred bull that passed all our herd sire criteria. He is red, homozygous dun, horned, A2A2, PHA free, non-Chondro. He was collected and then sold. If you're interested in adding a little MooShine to your herd feel free to drop us a line. 

Poppy is black, horned, A2A2, PHA free, and non-Chondro. He comes from a long line of quality Dexter milk cows. Poppy has continued to improve the udders and milk volume of our herd while adding depth and width that lends to easy keepers on grass alone. 

Elias is black, horned, A1A2, PHA free, and non-Chondro. He comes from a long line of quality Dexter milk cows. He has improved the udders and milk volume of his MooShine daughters.

Abraham is red, heterozygous polled, A2A2, PHA free, and non-Chondro. He was our first herdsire and he produced many lovely MooShine Dexters.
